Cover StoryChina's relations with the United States were marked by stability and complexity in 2007. Through high-level meetings the countries kept their trade and economic ties on track despite disagreements over intellectual property protection, the yuan's exchange rate and food and product safety issues. Experts expect the relationship to continue developing steadily in 2008, although a few matters such as the Taiwan question, the outcome of the U.S.presidential election and China's growth as an international power will put it to the test once again.
